Market Ease Digital is a marketing agency. Handling information responsibly is part of doing that job properly, both for the people who contact us and for the customers of the businesses we work with. This policy sets out how we do it.

1. Who we are

Market Ease Digital Pty Ltd operates this website and provides digital marketing, media buying, consumer intelligence and creative services. Our office is at 79 Magill Road, Stepney SA 5069, Australia.

We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the thirteen Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in it. Where we handle personal information of individuals in the European Union or the United Kingdom, we also observe the relevant obligations under the GDPR and UK GDPR.

In this policy, "personal information" means information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable. "We", "us" and "our" mean Market Ease Digital Pty Ltd.

  • Cookie and pixel identifiers used for analytics and advertising measurement

We do not seek to collect sensitive information such as health information, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs or sexual orientation. If it is ever necessary for a specific purpose, we will ask for your consent first.

3. How we collect it

Most of the personal information we hold is given to us directly, when you complete a form on this website, email us, call us, meet with us, or engage us as a client.

We also collect information indirectly through:

  • Analytics and advertising technologies on this website, described in section 5
  • Publicly available professional sources, such as a company website or a LinkedIn profile, when researching a prospective client or candidate
  • Referrals, where a client or contact introduces us to someone who may benefit from our services
  • Platforms we operate on your behalf as a client, such as Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn and Google Analytics

Where we collect your information from someone else, we will take reasonable steps to make sure you are aware of this policy and the purpose of the collection.

4. Why we collect it

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to your enquiry and arrange a discovery call
  • Prepare proposals, audits and strategy recommendations
  • Deliver, manage and report on the services we have been engaged to provide
  • Invoice clients and maintain our financial records
  • Send marketing communications, where you have consented or where you are an existing client and we have a related purpose
  • Assess job applications and manage recruitment
  • Improve this website and understand which content is useful
  • Meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations

We will not use your personal information for an unrelated purpose without telling you, unless the law requires or permits it.

5. Cookies and tracking

This website uses cookies and similar technologies. A cookie is a small text file stored on your device that lets a site recognise a returning browser.

What we use them for

  • Essential. Making the site work, remembering form state and security.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics, to understand how visitors find and use the site in aggregate.
  • Advertising and measurement. Tags from Google Ads, Meta and LinkedIn, which let us measure whether our own advertising is working and show relevant ads to people who have visited the site.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking them or deleting those already stored. Blocking analytics and advertising cookies will not affect your ability to use this site. You can also opt out of personalised Google advertising through Google My Ad Center and manage Meta ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.

We do not sell the data collected through these technologies.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent personal information. We disclose it only where it is necessary for the purposes described in this policy, and only to:

  • Service providers we rely on to operate. This includes cloud hosting, email, CRM, accounting, analytics and advertising platforms. They are permitted to use the information only to provide their service to us.
  • Advertising and media platforms, where campaign delivery on behalf of a client requires it.
  • Professional advisers, such as our accountants and lawyers, where reasonably required.
  • Law enforcement or regulators, where we are required or authorised by law to disclose.
  • A purchaser, if our business or part of it is ever sold or restructured. Any purchaser would be bound by obligations no less protective than this policy.

7. Overseas disclosure

Some of the platforms we use store data outside Australia. In practice this means the United States, the European Union and Singapore, depending on the provider. Providers include Google, Meta, Microsoft and LinkedIn.

Before disclosing personal information overseas we take reasonable steps to satisfy ourselves that the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, generally through the provider's contractual data-protection terms.

8. Client and campaign data

When we run marketing for a client, we often handle information about that client's own customers and prospects, such as email lists uploaded for audience targeting, or lead data captured through campaigns we manage.

Our role with client data

For this information, the client is the party responsible for how it was collected and what it may be used for. We handle it on the client's instructions and only for the purposes of the engagement. We do not use one client's data to benefit another, we do not add it to our own marketing lists, and we return or delete it on request at the end of an engagement.

If you are a customer of one of our clients and want to know how your information is being used, the client's own privacy policy applies. We will help direct your request if you contact us.

9. How we keep it secure

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include access controls and role-based permissions, multi-factor authentication on business systems, encryption in transit, reputable cloud providers with their own security controls, and staff training on data handling.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

10. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires.

  • Enquiries that do not proceed: generally up to two years, in case you come back to us.
  • Client records: for the duration of the engagement and then for seven years, to meet tax and corporate record-keeping obligations.
  • Unsuccessful job applications: up to twelve months, unless you ask us to remove them sooner.
  • Website analytics: according to the retention settings of the platform, typically fourteen months.

When information is no longer needed, we destroy it or de-identify it.

11. Marketing and opting out

We may send you information about our services, case studies or events, where you have asked to hear from us or where you are a client and the message relates to the work.

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we action unsubscribes promptly. You can also email info@marketease.com.au at any time and ask to be removed. Opting out of marketing does not affect operational messages about work we are delivering for you.

12. Access and correction

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it if it is wrong, incomplete or out of date.

Write to info@marketease.com.au. We will ask you to verify your identity, and we will respond within thirty days. There is no charge for making a request, though we may charge a reasonable fee for the cost of supplying information where a request is substantial.

In limited circumstances we may refuse access, for example where doing so would unreasonably affect another person's privacy or where the law permits refusal. If we do, we will explain why in writing and tell you how to complain.

13. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information or breached the Australian Privacy Principles, tell us and we will look into it.

Send the details to info@marketease.com.au with "Privacy complaint" in the subject line. We will acknowledge within five business days and give you a written response within thirty days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices, services or legal obligations change. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your personal information, we will take reasonable steps to tell you.
